Recently ran into John Lithgow at the bar at lunch. He was reading a script and intent on keeping to himself. A woman asked if he wished to sit with her, to which he replied, “I’d join you but then I wouldn’t be eating alone.”

Hog Island at the Ferry Terminal has great views and great oysters. Give it a shot next time you’re in town.

A second to the anti- Grand Central Oyster Bar sentiments. I went home sick as well. For my money, and there isn’t that much of it, Swan’s more fun. Pearl’s a great neighborhood place but not worth a special trip. We’re spoiled in this town by options; it’s a good one, but it’s not a great one.

As far as “Lost” goes, thanks for illuminating the much suppressed secret connection. I had no idea the writers were so crafty and gastronomically inclined.
